Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Memories of the Alhambra)

"Recuerdos de la Alhambra," (Memories of the Alhambra) by Francisco Tárrega. One of the most recognized and beautiful pieces in the classical guitar repertoire, Recuerdos utilizes the tremelo technique, wherein a repeated note melodic line is played simultaneously with harmonic accompaniment. This serene melody captures not only the spirit and charm of the Alhambra, but of Granada and its rich history as well.

Milonga

"Milonga," written by Argentinian composer and guitarist Jorge Cardosa. The milonga is a traditional Argentinian dance form, closely related to the tango. The distinctive rhythms and haunting melody of Cardosa's Milonga make it a favorite among guitarists and music lovers alike.

Rumores de la Caleta: Malagueña (Recuerdos de Viaje)

"Rumores de la Caleta," Op. 71, No. 6, by Isaac Albeniz. Subtitled "Malagueña," the piece demonstrates the energy of a juerga, or flamenco party, with a lively rhythm, soulful melody, and spirited rasguedos (guitar strums). Many thanks to the talented dancers and photographers whose beautiful imagery bring Rumores de la Caleta and Spain to life!

La Paloma, (The Dove)

La Paloma, composed by Sebastian Yradier in 1860 and arranged by Francisco Tarrega. "The Dove" in English, La Paloma is a very popular, charming song written following Yradier's visit to Cuba. A beautiful melody indicative of the many breathtaking landscapes of Spain, I hope you enjoy my interpretation of La Paloma!
